Brentford is a suburban town in west London and part of the Borough of Hounslow.
Brentford developed around the ancient boundary between the parishes of Ealing and Hanwell. It was divided between Old Brentford to the east in Ealing and New Brentford in Hanwell to the west. Of the two areas, Old Brentford was significantly larger.
Brentford High Street has two unusual museums with high reputations - The Music Museum and The Steam Museum.
You will find three stately homes within walking distance of High Street: Syon House, Boston Manor House and Gunnersbury Park Mansions, now a museum.
Nationally renowned Watermans Arts Centre is located near Albany Parade. It includes a gallery, cinema, theatre and workshop spaces. Just a five minute walk from High Street is Griffin Park, home to family-friendly Brentford Football Club.
Perhaps best known for its pubs, Brentford now has a good range of restaurants.
