Hayes is a town in the Borough of Hillingdon, West London.
The Grand Union Canal runs through Hayes, passing near the station and shopping area. There are some very good parks and gardens, particularly the Barra Hall Park - which is maintained by the local authority.
Hayes has a theatre, the Beck, which offers a wide range of touring shows.
In 2010 a brand new sports centre, incorporating the local library, was opened in the centre of the town. It includes a swimming pool and other sporting and fitness facilities.
Hayes and Harlington train station offers frequent local service to London Paddington, Oxford, Reading, Slough, and Heathrow Airport.
