General information
Hyde Park is an inner-city area of north-west Leeds, situated between the University of Leeds and Headingley. The area is in the centre of the city's student community but there are also many families and single people.
Hyde Park Picture House; an independent, historic, art house cinema; is a key attraction as well as a number of pubs and gig venues. The area has many local or independent shops with supermarkets and food stores, takeaways, DIY stores, a laundrette, a pharmacy and vintage clothes stores. There are also a number of cafes and shops at Hyde Park Corner.
The area is close to Burley railway station and benefits from good bus links into the city centre and North Leeds, making the area popular with young professionals.
Moor Allerton is situated in North Leeds, near to King Lane and the Leeds Outer Ring Road. The area is mainly made up of post war council housing and has a good reputation. There are a variety of shops and amenities including a library and a pub.
