Lying approximately 1 mile South of Middlesbrough town centre, Linthorpe is among the most sought after residential locations in the area. It is particularly popular with families and young professionals due to its excellent schools and its many, varied and popular recreational facilities.
Linthorpe has a special place in the history of Middlesbrough with many properties dating back to the late 19th century and early 20th century when developers bought up much of what was farmland and began to create a suburb of wide tree-lined avenues on which they built individual villas and terraced properties of substantial size and remarkable decoration.
Linthorpe village has a wide range of local shops, a medical centre, post office, banks and supermarkets. Further shopping and leisure facilities are available in Middlesbrough town centre.
