Malton is a historic market town. The market place offers coffee bars, cafes, public houses, supermarkets, independent shops and several schools. There is also a museum holding a wealth of Roman artefacts that were found in Malton itself.
Malton has a railway station which has links into Scarborough and York and takes about 25 minutes, making it ideal for commuters. Malton's Coastliner bus operates regular services to Whitby, Pickering, Filey, Bridlington, Scarborough, Leeds and York.
Malton is close to the popular theme park and zoo Flamingo Land, and to modern history museum Eden Camp. Castle Howard is another key attraction hosting events such as art and flower shows, concerts and markets.
