Strensall is a village situated on the River Foss and is linked to Huntington and the City of York by a frequent bus service.
Strensall falls within the catchment areas of Robert Wilkinson Primary School and Huntington School. Huntington School is situated 3 miles from Strensall and contains a successful sixth form, which has been ranked 19th in the country for results in 2005.
Strensall has a great range of amenities including a library, medical centre, bakery, hairdressers, fish and chip shop, Chinese takeaway, three pubs and three grocery stores: Tesco, Costcutter and Londis.
The village also has a sports centre with two playing fields, one of which has its own changing room, three tennis courts, astro turf and five small parks.
With its own Campsite and a highly regarded golf course, Strensall also provides a good base for holiday makers and keen golfers.
