West Hampstead is located in the London Borough of Camden, in zone two of the London Underground. It borders Belsize Park/Finchley Road to the east, and Kilburn/Willesden to the west.  The first public library in West Hampstead was opened in 1901, but was destroyed by a fire bomb in 1940. Jim Carter, Stephen Fry, Emma Thompson and Matt Lucas are just some of West Hampstead’s famous residents. The popular old school nightclub ‘Lately’ can be found on West End Lane, along with other bars and pubs such as Czech Bar and Ye Old Black Lion.

There are a range of shops around the area including high street retailers such as Primark in Kilburn, or for those who enjoy posh boutiques, there are plenty on Hampstead’s high street just around the corner.  There are also plenty of cafe’s and deli’s on West End Lane along with take-away food such as Nando’s and Papa Johns.

West Hampstead is well served by public transport. West End Lane is an important interchange between three stations – West Hampstead Underground Station, West Hampstead Thameslink, and West Hampstead Silverlink Metro. As if that wasn’t enough, there are plenty of buses connecting the area with other parts of London.
