The average house price in York is around £190,000, typically you can buy a nice 2/3 bed property in the City Centre for this figure or a nice 3-bed semi. Properties in the city range from lovely apartments and Victorian townhouses close to the medieval streets in the centre, to lovely suburban, tree-lined avenues only a mile or so from the centre. There are many larger homes in the area and it is not uncommon for estate agents in the city to be handling properties in excess of £1m.

Hunters York Estate Agents Branch Manager, David Parker is vastly experienced.  David has been in the estate agency business since 1995 and lives locally in the village of Stamford Bridge. David runs the branch alongside Sales Manager, Rob Williams who lives close to the city centre and Steve Gilleard our main Valuer who has been with Hunters York Estate Agents for over 10 years. As a branch, we are always on hand to do viewings on weekends and evenings so please do not worry about asking for a late appointment!

Other members of the Hunters York Estate Agents team include Nikky Waterhouse and John Romans, our sales negotiators, Steve Prophet who accompanies many of our viewings and Craig Eliot, our Mortgage Adviser.

Emma Heron – Letting Manager

Emma started life with Hunters York Letting Agents as Lettings Negotiator in Hunters Leeds city centre branch where she excelled in the business, thriving in the fast moving world of city centre lettings.  She moved to the Hunters branch in York and is thoroughly enjoying her role as York Lettings Manager. “I have a fantastic team and we run a busy and vibrant lettings department in York which is really exciting.” Emma also works closely with her colleagues in the York Sales team; work often spills over from sales to lets or vice versa. Emma says “we are here to cater for every customer’s needs – be it sales or lettings in and around York and work from the same office in Colliergate”

Fran McCarthy - Lettings Negotiator

I have now worked at Hunters York Letting Agents for over three years, starting within the maintenance department in 2009. In 2011 I moved across to our sales and auctions department, and whilst the role was a challenge, the ‘lettings magnet’ recently pulled me back. I am now in a new role as Lettings Negotiator in our city centre branch; I very much enjoy working in lettings and appreciate the day to day challenges that come with it.

My friends and family play a big part in my life outside of work and I spend a lot of time with them, in particular enjoying the vibrant nightlife that the City of York has to offer. I’ve lived in York my whole life and enjoy finding homes for people in the city I love.

Becki Bulmer  - Lettings Property Inspector

My role at Hunters involves preparing inventories before a tenant moves into a home, inspecting the property once it is occupied, and carrying out our ‘checkout’ procedure at the end of the tenancy. Further to this, I also ensure that our landlords are kept up to date on anything concerning their property and the tenants in occupation.

Although I haven’t worked at Hunters for very long, I am thoroughly enjoying my time here. Hunters is a great company to work for; all of the staff are great to work with and are very helpful.  Outside of work I like to spend time with my family and friends, eating out in York or spending time at the local pub on a weekend. York is a great place to live and has something to offer everyone.
