This part of York is a thriving local area, served well by It's local community. It is a very easy commute into York and the surrounding areas, as most of these villages are close to the A64 and the A19 and have bus routes than run regularly into York. These villages are all just south and to the west of York and have wonderful picturesque scenery, local imenities, and highly regarded Primary Schools and College.
- Bishopthorpe Village - is a thriving village just south of York, which has a Post Office, three pubs a local Co-op and cottages all around
- Copmanthorpe - Copmanthorpe is a village just outside of York, close to A64.Copmanthorpe has various shops a Primary School, Parking, a local Co-op and close to Golf Club.
- Naburn - Naburn is a small village which has a pub, a Primary School and also a Marina.
- Acaster Malbis - located near the River Ouse a very picturesque village and also has a local pub, a bus route into York and surrounding area.
- Appleton Roebuck - is a small village which has a playgroup, a Primary School, Tennis Club and a pub.
- Bolton Percy - Bolton Percy is a historic village, with a pleasent country atmosphere and which has it's own cricket ground.
- Bilbrough - easy acess to the A64, Bilbrough hosts it's own children's clubs, adult clubs such as wine tasting. it also has a bus route into York and the surrounding areas.
- Askham Richard - is a small village which has a Primary school, a popular duck pond and a bus route into York and the surrounding area.
- Askham Bryan - is well known for it's college and also consists of a pub and a bus route.
- Rufforth - is a small village which has alot to offer such as a Clay Target & Activity Centre, a Balloon Rides Centre, a pub and a bus route.
