









Harrogate is a pleasant Spa Town located within close proximity of the Yorkshire Dales and its many areas of outstanding natural beauty. It is famous for its tea shops, The Harrogate International Conference Centre, its beautiful gardens and the Harrogate 200 acre Stray. The town is also famous for its associations with the great English Crime novelist, Agatha Christie, who ‘disappeared’ here for a few days in the 1930’s.
The Stray or 200 Acres
Perhaps Harrogate’s best natural asset, the Stray is 200 acres of Parkland which envelopes much of the town centre and provides a vast open space for recreation. The Stray is much loved and an integral part of the town’s history. It developed its name from the stray dogs which once roamed there.
Betty’s Tea Rooms
The famous ‘Betty’s’ tearooms have two branches in Harrogate, one in the town centre and one at the famous RHS garden at Harlow Carr. Betty’s opened it’s doors for the first time in 1919 and over 85 years on people are still visiting Harrogate for this experience.
The Great Yorkshire Show
The Great Yorkshire is also a major attraction for three days every July in Harrogate. It’s a countryside showcase that combines entertainment and fun with the opportunity to see first-hand the many aspects of country life and farming. There is everything from International show jumping to pole climbing, marching bands and cattle parades through to local food and beer sampling!!
The Royal Pump Room Museum
Built in 1842 to enclose the Old Sulphur Well. The Royal Pump Rooms Museum tells the story of Harrogate’s history as England’s only truly European Spa.

The Harrogate International Centre is one of the world’s top venues for conferences, exhibitions, banquets and entertainments
