A forward-looking city with a proud history, Hull is home to landmarks such as The Deep – the world’s only submarium - and the magnificent Humber Bridge. The city today has a population of around 250,000 with famous sons and daughters including William Wilberforce, a tireless campaigner for the abolition of slavery and Amy Johnson, the first woman to fly solo from England to Australia.
Hull has a vibrant cultural scene with three theatres, a wealth of museums and the KC stadium which is home to the city football and super league teams as well as being a venue for a range of visiting music acts. Hull University is based at the Cottingham Road campus and has an excellent reputation as both the UK’s friendliest university and also for its award winning teaching.
The Prospect Centre and Princes Quay provide a good range of high street shops and the much anticipated St Stephens complex, due for completion later this year, promises to bring further quality retailers to the city.
